Te Tūranga – About the role

As a Senior Product Owner in the Enterprise Systems team, you won’t just deliver products - you’ll shape the future of how one of New Zealand’s largest retailers operates. You’ll lead the charge in transforming ideas into powerful, customer‑driven solutions that make a real difference to our business and our customers. Working in a fast‑paced, agile environment, you’ll bring vision, clarity, and energy to multiple product streams, ensuring every delivery drives value, solves real problems, and supports our ambition to be a truly customer‑driven co‑op.

In this role, you’ll be more than a product leader - you’ll be a connector, mentor, and change‑maker. You’ll partner with business leaders, merchandise teams, technical experts, and fellow Product Owners to shape strategies and roadmaps that deliver meaningful outcomes at scale. You’ll champion agile ways of working, nurture high‑performing teams, and bring a relentless focus on simplification, operational agility, and customer success. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating amazing product experiences that delight customers, empower teams, and move Foodstuffs forward.

You’ll be responsible for :

• Own and align the product vision and roadmap across multiple squads / products, ensuring delivery of commercial outcomes and customer value at scale, with full engagement / alignment and support of the business colleagues you represent – developing a trusted relationship and able to effectively incorporate their needs
• In alignment with our solution architecture ensure solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and built for the long term
• Leading discovery and delivery, by leveraging data and customer insights to guide decisions and evaluate outcomes- thereby advancing our commitment to becoming a data-driven organisation
• Mentoring and inspiring Product Owners, fostering collaboration and continuously evolving ways of working and a learning culture
• Ensuring product backlogs are prioritised, well‑refined, and equipped with clear acceptance criteria to deliver business impact
• Acting as a key escalation point for product challenges, removing blockers, and keeping delivery momentum strong
• Building strong relationships across the business to connect people, ideas, and outcomes
• Ensuring your team is set up for success with the right capacity, focus, and engagement to deliver exceptional result
