About the Role

As a Trainee Line Mechanic, You'll Be a Key Part Of Our Wider Service Delivery Team, Helping Ensure a Reliable Electricity Supply For Our Network Customers.

Under The Guidance Of Experienced Mentors, You'll Receive Hands-on Training In

Installing power poles and lines

Setting up new equipment

Diagnosing and repairing faults

Working safely at heights using ladders and bucket trucks

Operating a range of vehicles

You're a practical, motivated individual who thrives both independently and in a team.

You bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering excellent service—even when responding to faults after hours.

To Be Successful, You'll Need

To be living locally (within driving distance of our Taumarunui Depot)

NCEA Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent skills) and the ability to work toward a Level 4 qualification

A Full Class 1 Driver's Licence (or working toward it)

Physical fitness and confidence working at heights

A strong commitment to Health & Safety
