Overview
We're looking for a Line Mechanic who's confident on the lines and takes pride in doing things properly, safely, and with a strong sense of purpose.
Responsibilities
This isn't just a patch job.
You'll be out in the field making real, lasting contributions to the power network.
From the installation and replacement of poles and overhead conductors to maintaining and overhauling hardware up to 110kV, you'll be trusted to get the job done safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You'll also operate ground and structure mounted equipment up to 33kV and develop clear, practical work plans that keep everything moving even when the weather doesn't cooperate.
Additional Responsibilities
Alongside tool usage, you'll be the steady hand your team relies on.
You'll provide day-to-day guidance, support, and hands-on leadership, ensuring the right people are in the right places and the work is delivered to plan.
You'll play a key role in linking the day-to-day grind with the bigger picture : safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and Northpower's long-term success.
Qualifications
Proven experience working on overhead lines and pole structures
Strong understanding of electrical network construction and maintenance
Confidence operating equipment up to 33kV
Safety mindset – authority to stop work if something's not right
Leadership qualities – steps up and sets the tone
Ability to complete paperwork and reports accurately
