Piwakawaka Service – About the Role
Piwakawaka Service, located in the Halswell area, is seeking a new team member to join the service.
Piwakawaka is home to four gentlemen, each diagnosed with autism; one is visually impaired and requires a bit of extra assistance.
These gentlemen thrive on structure, routine, and being actively involved in household activities.
They value the presence of support staff and flatmates.
Together they enjoy a variety of activities, from attending festivals to community events.
In this role you will be energetic, empathetic, and able to work alongside the person, focusing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while reading situations, solving problems, and applying boundaries or offering space.
Daily tasks include supporting daily routines, while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth.
You will have confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks.
You will be passionate about supporting and extending people's ability to access and be part of their wider community.

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and depends on qualification level, paying between $23.50 and $29.10 per hour.

Role
Your aroha and approach is what matters at Hohepa – previous experience is not a prerequisite because we provide on-the-job training.
