Our client, a well-established painting and property maintenance company in the Hamilton and greater Waikato region, is seeking an experienced Painter Foreman to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to step into a leadership role, supervising projects, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring health and safety compliance on-site.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of painters across commercial and residential projects
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and timeline requirements
- Coordinate daily site activities and allocate tasks effectively
- Carry out surface preparation, painting, and finishing to high standards when required
- Monitor compliance with health & safety procedures and site requirements
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and management to keep projects on track
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years' painting experience , with proven foreman or team lead responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and finishes
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read and follow plans, specifications, and safety requirements
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Certificates & Licences
Legally Required :
- Working at Heights Certificate
- Hazardous Substances Handling Training (if applicable)
- Full NZ Driver's Licence (Class 1 minimum)
Industry Standard / Preferred :
- Site Safe Passport (Painting & Decorating or Building Construction)
- First Aid Certificate (NZQA 6401 & 6402)
- EWP (Elevating Work Platform) Certificate
- Confined Spaces Training (if relevant to project work)
- Supervisor Gold Card (Site Safe)
- NZ Certificate in Painting & Decorating (Level 4) or trade equivalent
