We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Sous Chef for our outlets at Coronet Peak Ski Area for the winter season. This role offers a chance to shine and grow in your career.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help manage all aspects of the kitchen and production areas, satellite food outlets, restaurants, members club, staff meal service, kids club meals, kitchen staff, and their development. In the Head Chef's absence, you will be expected to step up and take charge of kitchen operations.
About the role
- Assist the Head Chef in all kitchen operations and with kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and high-quality food that exceeds guest expectations, contributing to our goal of "Leading the World in Snowsports Experiences".
- Complete daily kitchen production requirements, assign and delegate work, and train kitchen staff in food preparation, customer service, food presentation, safety, and sanitation.
- Provide team leadership, effective communication, training, and organizational skills.
- Motivate, inspire, and influence a diverse team environment.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and kitchen sanitation.
- Champion the Food Safety Programme and foster a health and safety culture.
- Test recipes and techniques to ensure consistent quality and control food costs; exercise portion control.
- Prepare menu items according to company recipes.
- Manage stock control, planning, and minimize wastage.
- Work with the Head Chef and Purchasing Manager to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Serve meals with a friendly attitude.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized at all times.
About You
Hold a valid cookery certification.Have at least 2 years in a supervisory role or as a senior chef de partie, with a minimum of 5 years of cookery experience.Experience in high-volume, multi-outlet catering environments such as quick-service restaurants, hotels, or restaurants.Experience working within budgets and food cost margins.Knowledge of the company Food Control Plan, hygiene, health, and safety standards.Experience training and supervising kitchen staff.High energy, motivated, and driven.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Enjoy early mornings!Flexible to adapt working practices based on business needs.Understanding that employment depends on weather conditions and hours cannot be guaranteed.Skills and Qualifications
London City & Guilds and / or National Certificate in Cookery Level 3-4.Further Information
