We are seeking an experienced counsellor for the position of head of counselling at Onehunga High School.
You will be leading an established and collaborative team of four counsellors, a psychologist, and an administrator.
You will be working alongside a team of three nurses and a doctor to provide a high-quality wraparound service.
The right applicant will have :
At least five years of person-centred counselling experience, including secondary school counselling.
A proactive approach and a willingness to initiate and / or manage in-school wellbeing programs.
A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across schools, particularly with senior leadership, teaching staff, and external agencies.
Excellent organisational skills and a good level of digital literacy.
Full membership with NZAC or equivalent professional body.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover (12 months), with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available.
The role is four days per week (0.8FTE) but hours may be negotiable for the right candidate.
For registered teachers, this role comes with two Management Units (MUs).
For non-teachers, the salary will be negotiable, based on skills and experience.
