Service Technician (E&I)

As our new Service Technician (E&I) you'll provide top-tier maintenance and technical support at our industrial gas production plant in Christchurch.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance activities, including breakdown, preventative, reactive, planned and unscheduled work
Perform instrument calibrations and preventative electrical maintenance for our automated cylinder filling systems
Contribute to plant improvements and projects, providing expertise and insights throughout the design phase and being hands on throughout installation and commissioning
Identify and contribute to plant improvement opportunities to improve the safety and productivity of our processes
Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of process plant and equipment to ensure breakdowns are reduced or eliminated
Develop and maintain technical skills
Actively promote safety awareness within the team, ensuring that all regulatory and company requirements and standards are met
Comply with all safety procedures and standards, and assist with ongoing improvement
Develop JSA's for maintenance tasks
Plan and issue Permits to Work and manage maintenance tasks to ensure a safe system of work and methodology is used
Engage and manage external contractors where required
Qualifications
You hold a recognised trade qualification in electrical or instrumentation
You are a registered and certified electrician
You bring proven experience working with automation and control systems
You have over five years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
You are skilled in PLC logic troubleshooting, which would be a strong advantage
Experience with the Beamex / CMX calibration platform would be highly beneficial
Certifications in areas such as height safety, mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP), confined space entry and gas detection, permit issuing, or first aid would also be valuable.
