Job descriptionLead and support two activities assistants, ensuring activities are well‑coordinated, engaging, and aligned with residents’ needs. Manage activity plans for residents across this 60‑bed care home, with rest home and hospital levels of care. Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences. Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. Maintain personal and professional development – we have on‑site managers who always encourage our staff to up‑skill! NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification) A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar activities‑related role is preferable. Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere. You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be required to drive the van for outings, so a clean, full driver’s license is essential. In addition, you will need a P endorsement or be eligible to obtain this. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ. Hours & Roster Details
- Employment Type : Permanent Part‑Time
- Hours : Average 25 hours per week
- Shift Time : 9am – 3pm
- Roster Pattern : 4 days on, 2 days off (6‑weekly roster across Monday - Sunday). Please note this roster requires working most weekends .
