Senior Policy Analyst

We are looking for a contract Senior Policy Analyst to lead the development of high-quality advice for Ministers on complex policy issues in assigned areas. This may involve managing policy projects and oversight of associated staff, developing sound frameworks, and leading policy development processes. As a leader within the policy community, the Senior Policy Analyst will provide support and coaching to other staff.

Skills / experience required :

• Thrive in a fast-paced policy environment
• Confident in supporting the development of the team through mentoring, quality assurance, and coaching
• Comfortable leading pieces of policy work independently
• Proven ability to collaborate with others to find solutions
• Critical thinker with innovative approaches to complex policy issues
• Sound approaches to developing evidence-based analysis and advice
• Experience providing high-quality advice to senior leadership teams and Ministers.

You must be based in Wellington and able to be in CBD offices for 2 days (or more) per week.
