OverviewPolicy Analyst, Food Policy (multiple opportunities)Location : WellingtonSalary band and range : General Salary Range F : $76,463 to $89,215 depending on skills and experienceWe have two opportunities for Policy Analysts to join our Food Policy and Food Policy Trans-Tasman teams within the Regulatory Systems Policy directorate of Policy & Trade.
These roles support New Zealand's food safety system and involve working on a variety of topics across the wider food system.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and maintenance of food safety legislation and regulations
Coordinate briefings, respond to correspondence, and support legislative processes
Collaborate with technical experts and stakeholders to modernise food safety frameworks
Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to provide clear, practical policy advice
Engage with domestic and international partners, including Australian counterparts

About The Team – Mo To Matou Ropu
The Food Policy teams at MPI work on a broad range of issues central to the management of domestic food production and international trade in food.
We are responsible for the development of regulatory policy relating to the food safety system.
You will work alongside a mix of Policy Analysts including Principal and Senior Policy Analysts.
The team collaborates with the wider Policy & Trade branch, government agencies and industry to build meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
