Priority policy area for Government with a collegial and supportive team culture.ResponsibilitiesLead the Education System Policy team in Te Pou Kaupapahere, the Ministry's policy group.Provide people and policy leadership and focus on developing the policy team within our policy group.Think strategically about achieving Government policy goals across the education sector, including the use of data, accountability and system levers.Drive big-picture thinking, strategy development, policy analysis, foresight and stewardship analysis, and advice on leading change in a complex education system.Develop and deliver policy advice and contribute to initiatives such as the Ministry's Long-term Insights Briefing.About youProven policy management experience with the ability to lead multiple complex cross-Ministry policy projects or programmes of work to deliver Ministerial priorities and the Ministry's outcomes.Ability to think beyond immediate problems to the desired outcomes and end state, considering complex systems and ambiguity.Knowledge of Te Ao Maori and promotion of tikanga and Te Reo Maori, or willingness to gain it.Thrives in a fast-paced policy environment and maintains strong relationships across key government agencies for cross-government programmes.Knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi as it applies in the public sector, or willingness to gain this understanding.Commitment to Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.SalarySalary range : $142,856 - $214,284 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
