Although full-time would be preferred, this position could be 32 hours / 4 days a week for the right candidate.
Reporting to our Marketing Director NZ, this newly created role is reflective of our business desire and demonstrated commitment to being more consumer orientated going forward.If you're a collaborative and future focused insights specialist who always has consumers front of mind, is passionate about building capability across the wider business, and is excited at the idea of being the one to introduce and embed the marketing consumer insights / planning function into our business, then this could be the perfect role for you!
What will you be responsible for?
In this role, you'll lead the understanding of local consumers to inform strategic planning and decision making.
You will play a pivotal part in connecting these learnings (built in partnership with the marketing team) more widely through the local business and through the global Intersnack insights community.
Additionally, you'll also be leading the local marketing strategic planning cycle.
Specifically, you'll be responsible for...Championing our consumers across the businessLeading and owning the setup of and strategic direction of consumer insights for NZ (ie : frameworks, external partners, processes)Partnering with internal teams to identify and address long-term insight gaps that support strategic planning, innovation opportunities, brand identity, and in-store executionDelivering annual trends reviews to inform brand and category planningLeading the marketing strategic planning process with a consumer orientationManaging ad hoc consumer research projects (ie : briefs, selecting agencies, reviewing reverse briefs, coordinating execution, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders) and maintaining oversight of continuous research (e.g. brand health, category performance)Building capability and coaching marketing and cross-functional teams in the application and generation of insights, fostering a culture of consumer closeness and evidence-led decisions & inspiring curiosity and growth!
Delivering and managing rolling insights calendar and corresponding budget forecast aligned with business priorities and agency agreement and ensuring that all insight investments deliver value and ROI.What you'll bring to the role?
Passion for consumer connectivity5+ years senior insights experience (with experience in brand marketing and / or insights roles within FMCG)Tertiary qualification with a marketing endorsement, or the equivalent body of knowledge gained through experienceIdeally, proven experience working client side on consumer insights process development and management of large-scale consumer insights projectsExcellent technical understanding of research and insights processBroad research methodology experience (Qualitative, Quantitative, Sensory, Shopper)Strategic development, planning and project management experienceHighly collaborative communication style that engages, inspires and influences others, taking them on the consumer insights journey with you!
Ability to turn insights into action, drawing clear and actionable conclusions from research findings, ensuring insight-led thinking is embedded in strategy, execution, and innovationProven budget and business care management skillsMS Suite literateWhat can you expect in return?
