Nga korero mo te turanga – About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead the final year of the Doctor of Medicine programme at the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine (NZGSM) — the first new medical school in Aotearoa New Zealand in over 50 years.

You will guide the Trainee Intern (TI) year, ensuring students are fully prepared for their transition into the New Zealand health workforce as PGY1 interns.

You'll provide academic and clinical leadership, ensuring the Year 4 curriculum delivers excellence in teaching, cultural safety, and accreditation compliance.

Working with the Assessment Lead, you'll oversee final-year assessments and support students in consolidating their professional and clinical competence.

This is a 0.4 FTE, fixed-term role for 24 months, with competitive salary and benefits.

For more information on the role please see the position description.

For a confidential conversation about the role, please contact Professor David McCormack, Interim Dean of Medicine,

All applications must be submitted through the online portal; emailed applications will not be accepted.
