Overview

HY Mortgages is a boutique brokerage based in Auckland, specialising in residential, investment, and development funding.

We're a small, experienced team with deep lender relationships, and we're now ready to grow.

For now we're just looking for one mortgage adviser to join us under our FAP licence.

This role would best suit someone with experience — such as an ex-banker, existing adviser, or someone with a strong financial services background — who's ready to grow their own client base with the backing of a supportive brokerage.

What we offer

Full access to our HY FAP licence (no need to run your own).

Compliance, CRM, Microsoft 365 Business + OneDrive all taken care of.

PI insurance covered.

We'll manage lender and aggregator accreditation on your behalf — including banks, non-banks, and private lenders.

Strong relationships across main banks and specialist funders.

Mentoring and support from a team with 18+ years' experience in industry.

Business-owner style model : unlike PAYE Advisory roles that cap income with a salary, here your earnings grow directly with your business – supported by HY's licence, systems, and reputation.

What you'll need

New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5, with Residential Property Lending strand) – or a pathway to complete it.

Ideally prior experience in banking, lending, or financial advice.

Strong drive to build client relationships and grow your own book.

Commitment to compliance and putting clients first.
