Options for Permanent, Full and Part-Time. General Medicine Department at Timaru Hospital, South Island, New Zealand.

Responsibilities and Opportunities

Be part of a team of internal medicine specialists (9 currently) with sub-specialty interests including neurology, respiratory, gastroenterology, nephrology and cardiology. Practice internal medicine and acute medicine, with opportunities to subspecialise in gastroenterology, endocrinology (diabetes), rheumatology, cardiology, hematology or similar, leveraging prior experience.

Contribute to delivering comprehensive 24 / 7 services and participate in the hospital’s ongoing service development and refurbishment program.

• Part-time model available with time off in blocks of weeks.
• Role may suit those seeking flexible, varied practice within the internal medicine field.

About Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury / Timaru Hospital

Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury is responsible for services across the South Canterbury region. Timaru Hospital (131 beds) serves a district population of ~50,000 from a General Hospital Facility. Services include A&E, ICU / CCU, General, Orthopaedic, ENT Surgery, O&G, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Oncology, Palliative Care, and Internal Medicine. The facility is undergoing a significant refurbishment program.
