But we also invite applications from those trained solely in General Medicine or dual trained in any other medical subspecialty.This is a senior leadership role within the 54 bed acute medical ward and the 16 bed Medical Assessment and Planning Unit.
Our general physicians work on a team with a registrar and house officer, and collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to care for acutely unwell medical inpatients.About the Team / Service / LocationOur service provides a consistently high standard of medical care to patients in inpatient, outpatient, virtual and community settings.
The team is dynamic and forward-thinking, embracing new ideas and working across services to provide the best outcomes for our patients.
We have an inpatient Cardiology Team on-site, 24 / 7 virtual telestroke service, and on-site physicians specialising in Respiratory, Infectious Disease, Endocrine, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, and Geriatric Medicine.Wellington Hospital is 20 minutes away and provides tertiary services and access to other medical subspecialties.Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
