Community Development Facilitator - Safe Communities
Part time (24 hours per week) 10 months fixed term, parental leave cover.

We are currently recruiting a part‑time Community Development Facilitator who can work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders in an evolving and growing community environment.
This position involves facilitating community‑led activities that create a healthier, happier, safer Waimakariri District, with a particular focus on family violence and alcohol and drug harm and addiction, in line with the Waimakariri District Council Community Development Strategy 2025‑2035.
Experience and skills required
We are looking for self‑motivated people who can motivate others and encourage innovative thinking to generate solutions to community‑identified issues and opportunities. Your ability to build rapport and influence will complement your excellent communication skills.
You will need to be well organised and able to manage a workload of diverse portfolios to achieve timely outcomes. You will be able to work well as part of a team. It would be advantageous to have active involvement in a range of communities of interest. Being passionate and willing to bring energy and enthusiasm will be a plus!
