Fuel Center Cashier – Brookshire Grocery CompanyBrookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is based in Tyler, Texas and operates over 215 stores across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma under five banners : Brookshire's Grocery Company, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, Fresh by Brookshire's, and Reasor's.
This role maintains the fuel center and kiosk, monitors gas levels and deliveries, processes customer transactions accurately, and keeps the cash drawer balanced.
The fuel area and pumps must remain clean to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure correct checkout totals by properly keying and scanning items; maintain accurate money count in register at all times.
Ensure fuel center and customer safety by monitoring, reporting, and taking action regarding suspicious activities, emergencies, fires, and fuel spills; inspect fuel pumps and maintain hazard-free conditions.
Answer telephone calls and transfer to appropriate store personnel.
Remain current on tender policies and procedures related to checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, AML, lottery, etc.
Identify needs for parking lot maintenance; communicate incidents or concerns to management.
Maintain proper inventory levels by generating end-of-shift / day reports, monitoring product levels, and restocking or informing management of reordering needs.
Maintain a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to concerns regarding gas pumps and products.
Adhere to safety procedures; clean around gas pumps and kiosk, empty trash cans, and spot-clean spills.
Comply with laws regarding sales of restricted items such as tobacco and cannabis-based products as applicable.
Handle objects carefully to avoid damage to products and property.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to count and perform cash handling and sales calculations accurately.
Effective written and verbal communication with customers and partners.
Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Awareness of hazards and ability to remedy or warn as needed; report hazards to a supervisor when not immediately remedy.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
Minimum of 16 years of age.
Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business per BGC policy.
TABC / LACT / AATC certification where applicable.
Fuel Operator C training required.
Typically involves on-the-job training.
Physical Demands
Continuous use of close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus.
Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
Frequent use of hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
Occasional manipulation of objects by hand; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Occasional bending, kneeling, or squatting; standing or walking.
Attendance at work is required.
Work Context And Environment
Work is generally performed in a fuel center.
Frequently exposed to outside temperatures and weather; may be exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
Occasionally exposed to cleaning agents, industrial odors, fumes, and dust.
Quiet to moderate noise level.
