Position : Team Leader for the Aro ki te Hā Day Programme. Full Time, Application Closes 03 Dec 2025, Location : Auckland.

The Aro ki te Hā Team Leader provides leadership and direction for the Aro ki te Hā Day Programme, ensuring the service is inclusive, culturally grounded, and guided by te ao Māori. The role leads the development and delivery of the programme’s goals and objectives, embedding Māori worldviews and values across all activities. This position designs and oversees the implementation of programmes that support engagement, healing, and positive lifestyle change.

Duties

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the activities space, ensuring safe, effective, and consistent service delivery in collaboration with service leaders.
• Integrate and embed mātauranga Māori projects and initiatives across the activities space and HomeGround laneway areas where services are delivered to whānau.
• Provide consistent guidance and leadership on kaupapa Māori, tikanga Māori, te reo Māori, and current Māori perspectives to strengthen the cultural capacity of the service.
• Build and maintain positive, meaningful relationships with whānau to understand their needs and aspirations, encouraging their input into programme design and delivery.
• Provide direct supervision, regular 1 : 1 meetings, team meetings, performance reviews, and mentoring to build a culturally responsive, high‑performing team.

Te Tāpui Atawhai – Auckland City Mission supports Aucklanders in greatest need. Our services have evolved as the city’s social needs have changed, and we respond to these needs with care and compassion while advocating for a reality where there are : enough suitable homes, enough money for nutritious food, and easily accessible health care for all. Over the past 12 months, the Mission has provided 200 people with permanent homes, conducted over 20,000 consultations at the Calder Health Centre in HomeGround, cared for 462 people in our residential social detox facility in HomeGround, distributed almost 50,000 food parcels to families and individuals, and served over 80,000 warm meals in our community dining room, Haeata.

Last year we were proud to win the Nga Āhuatanga o Te Tiriti Tohu (Award), and the Supreme Award at the 2023 Diversity Awards.
