Senior Producer - Am, Morning Report

RNZ aims to develop a life-long relationship with all the people of Aotearoa by enriching, reflecting and connecting the communities of Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining storytelling.Te Mahi – About the jobMorning Report is looking for an experienced Senior Producer, who can join our team in Wellington and contribute to creating a vibrant, live experience on air and online for our audiences.WorkingMonday to Friday with some of the industry's top talent and covering the highest profile stories in NZ and overseas, you will be committed to the highest standards of journalism and have a thorough understanding of national and international news.Responsibilities of the role include : Keeping up to date with both national and international news storiesWorking with the show's dedicated production team, the newsroom, digital and others across RNZ on editorial components for on-air and online, including initiating, selecting, and developing story ideas.Working closely with the Morning Report presenter, providing notes / background information / research as required.Editing pre-recorded interviews, identifying relevant video and audio cuts, including re-editing interviews when required.Maintaining a diverse and relevant list of contacts.Working as part of a team in a high energy programming environment, you'll need : Daily news and breaking news experience.Knowledge of national and international news and current affairs.Experience in live on-airradio production.The ability to gain an on-air pass at RNZ, with a broadcast quality voice, including strong Maori and Pacific pronunciation skills.The ability to work under pressure with the ability to turn great ideas into compelling radio and online content.Nga Hua : What we offerA welcoming and inclusive team & organisationDevelopment and regular training opportunities for our peopleCompetitive salary and will match an employee's KiwiSaver contribution up to 4%Additional leave provisions for some roles and the option to buy extra leaveComprehensive parental leave over and above standard legislationRNZ supports work / life balance for our people including working from home initiatives where possibleComprehensive wellbeing support including access to a confidential support, guidance, and counselling serviceTe Ahurea – Our CultureWe are committed to fostering an inclusive and constructive culture.
