Korero mo te turanga - About the role

Supporting our Consumer team, we're looking for a strategic, tech-savvy leader who can turn big ideas into impactful outcomes.

As a Senior Product Owner with us, you'll shape the evolution of the platforms and products that keep NZ Post moving - from concept to delivery and beyond.

You'll lead in high complexity domains, across multiple squads and / or technologies.

Specifically, this role supports our Consumer Team – the people tasked with making sure we are customer centric, and always the first choice for anyone wanting to send parcels within NZ.

In this role, you'll :

• Set the direction for complex, cross-squad products that are critical to our business and customers.
• Connect vision to delivery - translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and prioritised backlogs.
• Lead and inspire - coaching other Product Owners, uplifting capability, and fostering a culture of agile, customer-centred delivery.
• Drive commercial impact - balancing technology investment with return on value and long-term platform health.
• Influence at the highest levels - partnering with senior stakeholders to make the right calls at the right time.

This is a newly created role, which requires the skill and expertise of a truly experienced Senior Product Owner.

We are on the hunt for a seasoned professional who would like to take their skills and apply them into a fast paced, evolving and complex organisation.

Mou - About you

You're a seasoned senior product leader who thrives at the intersection of vision, delivery, and stakeholder influence.

You know how to connect big-picture goals with on-the-ground action - and you're equally comfortable shaping roadmaps, coaching teams, and making tough trade-off calls.

You'll be able to clearly demonstrate strong commercial acumen, balancing customer value, business goals, and technical effort to inform prioritisation and investment decisions.

You'll bring :

• 5+ years in Senior Product Owner or Product Manager roles in technology-driven environments.
• Proven success delivering products end-to-end and across multiple squads.
• Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and investment planning.
• Deep understanding of agile product development and iterative discovery at scale.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
