An exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant in a thriving horticultural business in Hawke's Bay.

What you'll do
Support the finance function of a vertically integrated horticultural business, working closely with the finance team and operational staff across orchards and packhouses.
Maintain accurate financial records by processing invoices and payments, performing reconciliations, and keeping the ledger up to date.
Assist with routine accounting duties such as preparing reports, supporting audits, and GST returns, and contribute insights during budgeting cycles.
Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels to foster collaboration between finance and operations.
Participate in team meetings and health & safety initiatives to contribute to a positive workplace culture focused on shared goals.
Learn new systems quickly, take a proactive approach to problem-solving, and help keep financial processes running smoothly to support sustainable growth.
What you bring
1–3 years' experience in accounting or finance roles handling core functions such as reconciliations, report preparation, invoice processing, or compliance support.
Familiarity with New Zealand financial regulations and comfort using Excel and industry-standard accounting platforms.
Strong interpersonal abilities with an approachable manner to support cross-functional collaboration.
Reliable, detail-focused, and capable of handling independent responsibilities when required.
Curiosity and a proactive attitude toward learning new processes or technologies to improve efficiency.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with diverse colleagues.
