Regional Head of Department Science - Any Campus

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Department (HoD) – Science to lead curriculum design and ensure excellence in teaching and learning across our New Zealand region's 18 campuses.
As Regional HoD of Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping what is taught and how it's taught.
You will lead curriculum development through the Learning to Learn Framework, ensuring lessons and assignments are engaging, relevant, and of the highest quality.
This position provides academic leadership by guiding teachers, overseeing curriculum and assessment, and ensuring alignment with NCEA and school-wide goals.
As a State specialist subject in ESS or Physics (preferred), you will mentor and support staff to maintain high teaching standards, collaborate with campus principals to monitor student progress, and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
You will need :
Valid NZ teacher registration
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
What you bring :
Proven excellence as a classroom teacher in Science
Leadership experience at middle or senior school level
Strong expertise in curriculum planning and assessment including NCEA level 1
Ability to inspire, support, and hold staff accountable
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Experience using digital learning tools effectively
