OverviewAuckland University of Technology (AUT) invites applications for the role of Head of Department, Midwifery (School of Acute & Primary Health), AUT South Campus.
This is a senior academic appointment with leadership responsibility within the Department of Midwifery, the largest midwifery educator, researcher and postgraduate provider in New Zealand.

Key Focus AreasEmbrace AUT's Te Aronui framework and operate as a Te Tiriti o Waitangi-led organisation.Provide leadership and direction for the Department of Midwifery.Lead the development of a department culture focused on excellence in teaching, research, service and other academic contributions while ensuring staff feel safe and productive.Continue to develop and implement academic programs that meet industry standards and student needs.Foster strong relationships with community, health agencies, tangata whenua and other key stakeholders to ensure curriculum relevance and career opportunities.Lead, mentor, and motivate academic and administrative staff to achieve department objectives.The OpportunityThe Department of Midwifery is seeking an experienced midwife and senior academic with leadership experience to enable excellence and equity in education and research.
You will contribute to academic programme development, research capability and capacity, and create space for innovative thinking in response to sector and student needs.
