Graduate Or Junior Solicitor

JMJ Lawyers Limited is a general practice firm specialising in litigation and property law with offices in Timaru and Temuka.We have an opportunity available for a graduate or junior solicitor with an interest in criminal, employment and family law to join our litigation team.

Our litigation team is experienced in all areas of criminal, employment and family law and are skilled at resolving disputes by way of negotiated settlements, court proceedings and alternative disputes resolution.About the Role : The primary focus of this role is to provide quality legal advice to our clients.You will draft submissions and affidavits, communicate with clients and their families, prepare opinions and research on legal issues and attend court appearances.You will ultimately participate in matters from inception to completion with autonomy but with the support and guidance of our experienced litigation team.Our work is a mix of private and legal aid.About you : You have completed your LLB.You have completed your Professional Legal Studies and are either already admitted to the bar or soon to be admitted.You will have a strong interest in criminal law and have considered what a career in criminal law would look like and the content of work you will be exposed to.You will have an interest in employment and family law.You have effective time management, communication, client relationship skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.You will have excellent academic and writing skills and will be well versed in legal research.To apply, please answer the following question : Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
