As a Kaitaki Tuarua - Tumu Herenga Waka Assistant Terminal Manager, you'll guide work at the terminal working closely with and providing back up to the Kaitaki Tumu Herenga Waka Terminal Manager.This role has a range of responsibilities including executing the operational activities within the terminal and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safe and reliable operations of the terminal.
We have a need for technical capability in our Terminal and will be looking for applicants with mechanical and maintenance experience to diagnose and conduct minor tasks and inspections.What does working at a Z Fuel Terminal involve?
Typical tasks might see you permitting contractors working in the Terminal, recording stock movements, conducting maintenance checks, carrying out Safety and Wellbeing and task observations, carrying out bulk Ship receipts into our storage tanks, taking fuel samples to check the quality, and more.

Our Terminal Operations typically happen during business hours Monday to Friday, however at times there is a need for overtime (afterhours and weekends).
ResponsibilitiesHelp supervise, coordinate and complete maintenance activities and record completed tasks in Z's maintenance systemWork in a close-knit team at the Terminal carrying out tasks such as : receiving petroleum products from Ships into our bulk tanks, tank gauging, product sampling & testing, product transfers, compliance checks and forklift operations etc.Learn and comply with Safety and Wellbeing policies, standards and procedures to ensure the Terminal is run in a safe and reliable wayTrain to become certified in 'Shore Officer' and 'Permit to Work' responsibilitiesProvide administrative support with the day-to-day running of the Terminal.
This includes stock management, purchasing activities and ad hoc other administrative tasksParticipate and learn from regular training and assist with providing trainingSupport and deputise for the Kaitaki Tumu Herenga Waka Terminal Manager and provide relief cover for other staffQualificationsIdeally knowledge of terminal operations and the ability to work in a hands on and practical way, or other relevant experienceExperience in mechanical or maintenance type activitiesHigh level of communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive relationships with key customers and stakeholdersThe ability to lead, mentor and coach team member to improve performance and maintain standardsFlexibility to work outside in all weather conditions and a range of hours as well as be on call when requiredExperience and the knowledge of managing a hazardous environment with a commitment to safetyCapable of passing regular medicals and drug and alcohol testsThe ability to embrace change and bring your team on the journeyAnd of course, you'll be passionate about what matters to Z, embracing and living our values to help us deliver on our aspirations and broader commitment to Aotearoa New Zealand.Don't meet every single requirement?
