Are you passionate about creating Green change? This could be the job for you!
This is a fixed-term role supporting the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand in the lead up to and during the 2026 general election. The General Election Field Director is responsible for development and coordination of the Green Party’s General Election field campaign.
The successful candidate will be working with the Campaign Director, to create and execute a strategy, using the most up-to-date data and campaign tools, to ensure local teams run effective campaigns, suited to their capacity. This role will supervise other fixed term field staff and volunteers and will step in where necessary to support the delivery of the field campaign. It will involve developing and delivering training plans and materials; mobilising volunteer teams; working with the Campaign Administrator to ensure regular and clear communication is given to candidates, campaign staff and campaign teams; monitoring and giving feedback on the performance of local field staff; and other General Election projects, as directed by the Campaign Director.
The working hours are 40 hours per week. The member-driven nature of the organisation means that the Field Director will need to be available during evenings and weekends. Out of hours work will intensify in the weeks before the general election. If the employer has asked, and the employee agrees to work more than their usual hours of work in a week, the employee will get time off in lieu.
Note : The Green Party is committed to equal employment opportunities. We acknowledge the challenges of applying especially for young, disabled, LGBTIQA+, women and / or people of color. We are happy to have a conversation about how we can support your application.
