The RolePart of Meridian's Dam Safety & Civil Engineering Team, you'll contribute to key asset management decisions and have ample opportunity to spend time in the field working directly with assets across the Waitaki and Manapouri Power Schemes.This will enable you to utilise your technical skills in influencing how assets are managed, improving monitoring, preparing for and responding to emergencies and undertaking dam safety investigations and assessments.
Using your people skills you'll oversee surveillance programmes, contribute to risk management, lead varied projects, and provide support and mentorship within the team.All of which will involve collaborating with your fellow Dam Safety and Civil Engineers as well as other engineering disciplines, and working with Surveillance Teams, Maintainers / Operators, Project Delivery Teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders.About YouWith a strong background in asset management and civil project engineering you'll be relationship focused, experienced working with a range of stakeholders.
Risk-based and pragmatic, you'll ensure assets are managed in a financially astute manner that maximises asset value while in accordance with dam safety regulations and best practice.A proven track record of effectively managing assetsStrong problem-solving skillsA high attention to detail while still seeing the bigger pictureFinancial and project planning experienceA relevant qualification in civil or a related engineering fieldThe OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity to be based in one of the most picturesque parts of the country, working on site and close to the assets you are responsible for.
