We're seeking two talented Senior Advisors to join our team within Refugee and Migrant Support (RMS).
1 Permanent Full time and a 6 month Fixed term to lead and support the tactical priorities and key deliverables for the cross-government Refugee Resettlement Strategy and the Migrant Settlement and Integration Strategy (the Strategies).

As part of the RMS team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring RMS is delivering on the Strategies.
In this role, you will :
Offer subject matter expertise, guidance, and advice for decision-makers
Assist in the development of advice or briefings
Lead the development and implementation of settlement projects
Stay ahead of emerging trends, events, and internal initiatives
Identify opportunities for improvement
Ensure all operational units of INZ are aligned in their delivery
You'll also engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organisation and wider Ministry to address gaps in processes that impact our priorities.

Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to prepare high quality advice for Senior decision makers
A working knowledge of the machinery of government
Understanding and a good working knowledge of New Zealand's Refugee and Migrant settlement landscape, including relevant legislation, policies and community settlement services
Experience managing projects and / or contracts or the administration of contracts within government, a regulatory environment, or the private sector.
Operational experience with ability to analyse, review and innovate projects, operational policy, process, and procedures
Considerable experience in dealing with ambiguity in a complex and dynamic environment
Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated by credibility, personal or collaborative influence, managing expectations and targeted persuasion
Positive and constructive disposition
To be eligible for the role you will need to hold either a New Zealand citizenship or a New Zealand Permanent Resident visa.
