We want it to be easier for businesses to innovate, grow and comply, while still ensuring the benefits from regulation that we take for granted won't change.We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

• What you'll be doing :
• Taking the lead on Cabinet papers, briefings, and Ministerial correspondence, contributing to Official Information Act requests, parliamentary questions, and other ad hoc requests from Ministers.
• Supporting key stakeholder engagement activities, giving you the opportunity to connect with a wide range of people and agencies to advance improvements in regulatory systems.
• Working collaboratively with others to understand issues and develop practical solutions for inclusion in review findings.
• Undertaking research and analysis of regulatory systems under review.
• Contributing to continuous review and improvement of our approach to reviews.
• What you'll bring :
• 5+ years' experience in regulatory operations, operational policy or regulatory policy
• A tertiary qualification (or equivalent government experience), with a background in regulatory policy, economics, operational policy or regulatory operations, including understanding of legislation
• Strong understanding of government processes, policy frameworks, and the machinery of government
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas and influence effectively
• Proven ability to lead work independently and support others in a team setting
• Strategic thinking and political acumen
• Team player attitude, willing to support, coach and mentor others in the team
• A genuine commitment to improving regulation for all New Zealanders.
