We want it to be easier for businesses to innovate, grow and comply, while still ensuring the benefits from regulation that we take for granted won't change.We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

What you'll be doing :
Taking the lead on Cabinet papers, briefings, and Ministerial correspondence, contributing to Official Information Act requests, parliamentary questions, and other ad hoc requests from Ministers.
Supporting key stakeholder engagement activities, giving you the opportunity to connect with a wide range of people and agencies to advance improvements in regulatory systems.
Working collaboratively with others to understand issues and develop practical solutions for inclusion in review findings.
Undertaking research and analysis of regulatory systems under review.
Contributing to continuous review and improvement of our approach to reviews.
What you'll bring :
5+ years' experience in regulatory operations, operational policy or regulatory policy
A tertiary qualification (or equivalent government experience), with a background in regulatory policy, economics, operational policy or regulatory operations, including understanding of legislation
Strong understanding of government processes, policy frameworks, and the machinery of government
Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas and influence effectively
Proven ability to lead work independently and support others in a team setting
Strategic thinking and political acumen
Team player attitude, willing to support, coach and mentor others in the team
A genuine commitment to improving regulation for all New Zealanders.
