The Culture and Capability team help to strengthen MNZ's organisational culture and build the capabilities our people need to thrive and perform to successfully deliver on our organisation strategy; Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga.

A key focus of the team is managing and leading our culture work programme, Weaving the Cloak - Whiria te tangata. This programme is ocused on building and embedding our values and four key cultural pillars : environmental sustainability, DEI, connection and Te Ao Maori, as well as the delivery of our engagement survey, Te reo o tatou | the voice of us all.

The Culture and Capability team also leads and manages the organisation's capability building strategy; focusing on our priority capabilities of leadership, management, cultural and regulatory and readiness and response capabilities, and works closely with other teams in the Group to ensure effective on-boarding of staff.

Te tunga | The role

As our Principal Advisor Organisational Development you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting and new initiatives and programmes of work. You will provide expert advice on strategies, frameworks and practices to uplift organisational development maturity at Maritime New Zealand. You will take the lead on the development and delivery of MNZ's organisational development work programme, working at the strategic level with Senior Leaders and our ELT. You will be integral in the on-going development and iteration of our culture programme Whiria te tangata | Weaving the cloak, collaborating with representatives from within the organisation ensuring the programme remains a vital and valued part of our organisation.

Nou te rourou | What you bring

We are looking for a positive, energetic Organisational Development professional with proven in-depth experience working across the full range of OD initiatives and deep understanding of OD principles and approaches. You will be a strategic thinker, pragmatic with exceptional communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of our organisation. This a highly collaborative role working with other specialists in our team and across the organisation to ensure we consistently strive to ensure the success of the overall organisational strategy – Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga.

This role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, and has a salary range of $140,735 - $171,945 depending on skills and experience plus kiwisaver contribution of up to 4%.
