- , the long-term iwi development strategy to grow a generation of culturally grounded, educated, and globally connected leaders.This is more than a teaching role — it is a call to be part of an intergenerational movement that places te reo Maaori, tikanga, and mana motuhake at the centre of student identity, learning, and leadership.We are seeking a skilled and passionate kaiako with proven expertise in Maaori performing arts — such as kapa haka, waiata — and strong proficiency in te reo Maaori me oona tikanga.The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of maatauranga, kaupapa and tikanga Maaori, be confident in supporting students to connect with their iwi, hapuu, and whenua, and will contribute meaningfully to Fraser's cultural life — including kapa haka, poowhiri, Matariki, poukai, waananga and Maaori student leadership pathways.This role directly supports the aspirations of Whakatupuranga Waikato-Tainui
- by empowering aakonga to stand confidently in both te ao Maaori and te ao whaanui, nurturing future iwi leaders and kaitiaki.Fraser is a diverse and well-resourced secondary school of approximately 1,500 aakonga.

.Role and responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will contribute to Fraser's Maaori performing arts programme and broader cultural life, including kapa haka, waiata, poowhiri, and Maaori leadership pathways.They will support students to connect with their iwi, hapuu, and whenua, and foster te reo Maaori and tikanga in daily learning and during school events and ceremonies.Qualifications and attributes
