The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an experienced CNC Foreman / Supervisor who’s ready to take on a new challenge. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll work closely with the Managing Director—who is actively involved in the day‑to‑day operations—so you’ll have full support as you take ownership of the workshop floor. You’ll be managing a skilled CNC team and overseeing the production of precision components across a wide variety of sectors. Overview of Role
Oversee the daily operations of a high precision machining workshop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely production of top‑quality components. Take a hands‑on leadership approach, coordinating resources—including personnel, machinery, tooling, and materials—to meet monthly production targets. Monitor workflow, proactively address issues related to throughput, maintenance, and quality, and drive continuous improvement. Lead, support, and develop team members to maintain a high‑performing and motivated workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet deadlines, specification tolerances, and quality standards.
- Ensure machines run reliably; coordinate preventive maintenance, tooling status, and downtime minimisation; optimise setups and changeovers.
- Materials and tooling management : ensure correct tooling, calibration status, and consumables; coordinate with procurement.
- Risk and issue management : identify schedule / quality risks, escape where needed, and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation and compliance : maintain SOPs, work instructions, control plans, and recordkeeping.
- Enforce quality systems : adherence to work instructions, GD&T, process controls; coordinate First Article Inspections, in‑process checks, and final inspection; ensure data capture in the metrology system.
- Safety leadership : enforce policies, conduct toolbox talks, promote safe practices, and manage incident investigations.
- Internal / External communication : provide timely updates to the team and to customers / suppliers as needed.
- KPI tracking and reporting : collect and report on delivery, quality, downtime, safety, and cost metrics.
- Lead and supervise workshop staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching. This includes managing staff development, conflicts, and performance reviews; promote 5S and continuous improvement.
About You
Experience with CNC milling / turning, proficient with metrology tools, calibration management and knowledge of precision engineering.Minimum of 5 years’ experience of leading a section / team in this environment.Safety focused and commitment to quality.Excellent communication skills including leadership skills / experience – written and verbal.Time management and ability to juggle multiple projects.Problem‑solving and decision‑making; quickly identifies issues and implements actions.Accountability and integrity; ownership of outcomes (positive and negative).Continuous improvement mindset; seeks waste reduction and process optimisation.Technical competence : basic understanding of the machines, tooling, and process steps; ability to read drawings / specs (GD&T).Benefits

$80‑90K per year salary (depending on experience).
