Overview

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date : 27 / 01 / 2026, End Date : 25 / 01 / 2027 (To cover refreshment leave).

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher — English.

We seek a knowledgeable, innovative, and passionate English teacher to join our dedicated team for the 2026 academic year to cover refreshment leave.

This full-time, fixed-term role involves teaching English across all year levels, from Y9 through to NCEA Level Three.

Responsibilities

Teach English across all year levels from Year 9 to NCEA Level Three.

Model a love of learning and continually focus on enhancing practice within a supportive, collegial department.

Contribute to a vibrant, high-performing kura by supporting akonga to achieve success.

Qualifications and what we're looking for

Strong background in English literature and language.

Commitment to role-modelling lifelong learning.

Ability to work within a well-resourced department in a dynamic kura.

Beginning teachers are encouraged to apply; an effective PCT programme will support growth and development for successful candidates who are new to the profession.
