Laboratory Analyst

We have a fantastic opportunity available within the Waipa Sawmill Laboratory team in Rotorua.

This is a hands-on role in a small but busy laboratory supporting timber treatment operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in sample preparation, analytical testing, and maintaining high standards of laboratory practice (IANZ Accredited).

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

This role will include :

Timber sampling and preparation

Keeping required data and documentation

Maintenance of analytical instrumentation.

Support of laboratory audits.

The ideal candidate will have :

Relevant tertiary qualification in analytical chemistry (preferably a BSc or equivalent).

Practical knowledge and experience in a working chemical laboratory.

Intermediate computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Able to maintain a high attention to detail during routine tasks.

Adept with analytical and diagnostic skills.

Capable of assisting in problem-solving and finding appropriate solutions.
