Our Animal Services teams run our 28 Centres, from Kerikeri to Invercargill and they are essential in us being able to do the work we do.

Our Centres are working hard rescuing, caring for and rehoming animals in need.
They are the face of the SPCA in their communities, working to create real and sustainable change for the wellbeing of animals.
The Centres are run by a bunch of passionate people, from Centre Managers to Animal Attendants, who prioritise animal welfare and community connection.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Services Coordinator to join our Animal Services team.
This role is -
Permanent, full time
Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm

It is a rewarding, fulfilling, and essential role, as well as demanding, heartbreaking and physical.
It takes a special kind of person to do this role but what you get back can really fill your cup.
The Customer Service Coordinator acts as a key member of the SPCA Centre, providing excellent customer service to customers, volunteers and fosterers of SPCA in person, over the phone and digitally.
They actively participate in the Customer Service Team by ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the customer service area by performing a variety of duties to a high standard.
The Customer Service Coordinator actively engages with the community by way of in-person customer service, foster and volunteer recruitment and coordination, and actively works towards recruitment and maintenance of the foster and volunteer network.
They support the fosterers and volunteers by providing them with the tools and resources they need, and ensure the Centre is appropriately supported.
Responsible for ensuring the physical health and behavioural needs of any animals in their care are met to a high standard, in accordance with SPCA's Policies and Procedures and the Animal Welfare Act 1999.
About You
You're an animal advocate, you are passionate about animal welfare, care and education.

Animal handling experience and knowledge
Experience working with volunteers and increasing volunteer and foster numbers and capability
Influencing and conflict management skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
The ability to think on your feet
A positive and friendly approach to customers, animals and team members
High empathy and resilience
Experience working in a busy environment where multitasking is key
Experience working with the community in a customer facing role
