With an exciting journey ahead, Hunting and Fishing is seeking an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join the team in Auckland. Reporting directly to a Senior Category Manager, this role will focus on three key categories – Fishing, Diving and Electronics. These categories contribute significantly towards company turnover and profitability and are crucial to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

The main purpose of the role is to work with the Senior Category Manager to deliver strategies that enhance market share, customer satisfaction, store sales, and profitability.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience in Assistant Category Management responsibilities
• Sound commercial acumen.
• The ability to assist in building successful category strategies.
• An understanding of best-practice Category Management tools and processes
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and retail owners.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI and Category Management software.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and report on category performance.
