If you're passionate about innovation and safety, we'd love to welcome you aboard.About the roleOur Financial Planning & Performance Reporting Manager is a key member of KiwiRail's Finance Team; a team which is responsible for aggregating KiwiRail's financial and non-financial planning, monitoring and reporting results, and providing tools and systems to enable these processes.

The result of these activities will be the provision of strategic, financial, commercial and non-financial performance analysis and advice to the business and wider stakeholders.This role ensures that financial and performance reporting is aligned to KiwiRail's strategic objectives and is focussed on key business drivers.

By working collaboratively across the business, you will play an important part in enhancing KiwiRail's reporting to deliver clear, succinct insights on business performance.

As a highly skilled and experienced relationship builder at executive level, you will be able to take our strong foundations and shape and progress them for our future needs.Key accountabilitiesLeading and overseeing the delivery of trusted, timely, relevant, insightful and accurate financial and performance reporting aligned to KiwiRail's strategic objectives both internally and externallyManaging the preparation and delivery of the annual corporate reporting documents in line with statutory timeframesCo-ordinating the Group budgeting and forecasting processes in conjunction with other Finance Leaders including the development of the budgeting approach and requirements, and ensuring an integrated approach to financial planningProactively identifying and implementing opportunities for improving, integrating, streamlining reporting frameworks and processes to enhance the efficiency and consistency of financial and performance reportingWhat (skills) you will bringKnowledge and experienceYou will have proven experience (10+ years) in financial reporting within large, complex and diverse organisationsYou're skilled in quickly assimilating new information or areas of work and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex conceptsYou have strong written communication skills and the ability to articulate key messages clearlyYou understand KiwiRail's services and how we interact with other agencies and the GovernmentYou are skilled in managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholdersYou have previous experience leading a team, lifting capability and developing people and promoting the generation of new ideasWays of working / Work-related qualitiesYou guide your team through challenges, ensuring they stay positive and productive despite setbacksYou focus your team on delivering high-quality service, ensuring customer needs are metYou're flexible and practicalYou make good decisions and are politically awareQualificationsCAANZ recognised Chartered Accountant qualification or comparableRelevant degree in Business / Commerce (ideally Major in Accounting)Nou te rourou | What's in it for youCompetitive salary plus 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution25 annual leave daysProfessional development opportunities to help you grow and succeedAccess to NZ Rail Staff Welfare Trust benefits, including holiday homes, medical support and discounted travelBe part of a diverse and inclusive workplace dedicated to innovation, sustainability and community impactReady to Make a Difference?
