About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Clinical Administrator to join our team of administrators for the Respiratory Departmentat Christchurch Hospital.

In this vital role, you'll play a key part in supportingpatient access to healthcare services by, managing in patient and outpatientbookings, and ensuring smooth clinical workflows in alignment with Health NewZealand (Te Whatu Ora) guidelines.

Your main focus will be transcription and administrativesupport, ensuring timely, accurate and confidential documentation thatcontributes to safe, high-quality care for patients and their whānau.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claimsettlement this role has beenmapped to National Band 5 / Profile Step 1 to3 (final placement step is dependent on skills, knowledge and experience).

• Performtranscription duties with accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring alldictated letters and reports are completed within required timeframes.
• Collaboratewith clinical and administrative teams to ensure patients receive timelyaccess to care.
• Supportthe smooth running of outpatient clinics by managing patient arrivals anddepartures.
• Maintainaccurate and up-to-date records in the Patient Management System (SI PICS)and associated databases.
• Ensurebooking processes meet Health New Zealand and Ministry of Healthstandards, following business rules and timelines.
• Communicateclearly and professionally with managers, clinicians, patients and whānau,maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Contributeto continuous improvement by identifying and implementing more efficientadministrative processes.

About you

Essential Skills and Experience

• Excellentcustomer service and communication skills.
• Provenexperience using data systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Exceptionalaccuracy, attention to detail and typing skills (50'70 wpm).
• Strongorganisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Abilityto work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Highstandard of written and verbal communication.
• Administrativeexperience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Knowledgeof medical terminology and familiarity with public hospital systems.
• Awarenessand respect for cultural diversity, particularly Māori and Pacificcommunities.
