Based out of Christchurch, the Contest Events Coordinator is pivotal to delivering innovative, engaging, and challenging experiences for contestants, supporting their learning and growth.
Weekend travel nationwide and overnight stays are part of the role.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the FMG Junior Young Farmer of the Year component for the contest season, including planning, management, and delivery of all related events.Coordinate logistics with module hosts, stakeholders, and contestants before and during events.Support the Contest Events Manager and team to ensure effective event delivery in line with NZYF strategy and objectives.Provide administrative support, supplier and contractor liaison, and maintain accurate contest documentation.Foster and promote relationships with members, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.Produce high-quality event materials and communications.Contribute to financial planning, budget monitoring, and reporting.Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and contribute to event safety management.Event Planning & Delivery : Travel for select District events (October–November)7 Regional Final Weekends (February–April)Grand Final week (July)Be hands-on at all events, responsible for setup and pack-down.Ensure Health & Safety protocols are followed and scoring is managed accurately.Person SpecificationIdeally relevant event or project coordination experience or similar.Excellent customer service skills and relationship-building strengths.Highly organised with the ability to juggle competing priorities.Willingness and ability to travel, including weekends and overnight stays.Alignment with NZYF's vision, purpose, and values.Why NZYF?
