Functions & Events Supervisor

The Loft Bar in Christchurch is an exciting new sports bar experience.

With our NYC-loft-inspired premier sports viewing venue, daily rituals, exceptional food, and cocktails, we are looking for a key staff member to join us!

Position : Functions & Events SupervisorWe are looking for an experienced hospitality "all-rounder" to join us as a hands-on functions & events supervisor.

Functions and events include but are not limited to, full venue private hires, sporting events such as key games, ongoing leagues, one-off events, and group functions.

We are looking for someone with a bright, positive energy that can excite and motivate a team and exceed guests' expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute the event / function, from setup until the event is over.Setting up and managing audio / visual equipment and requirements.Supervising and working with the front of house, bar, and kitchen team on specific requirements for events or functions.Have a comprehensive understanding of Host Responsibility and being able to work solo if required, covering all aspects of the venue from bar service to meal preparation and food service.Post event / function feedback and data gathering.Qualifications and RequirementsAt least 5 years of relevant hospitality industry experience.Experience with reservation systems and integrated POS systems.Intermediate bartending skills with cocktail experience is essential.A valid LCQ and DM license or currently working towards this.Kitchen experience at commis chef level or above.

Experience with function service is a plus.Experience running the kitchen pass throughout service.Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.Shifts do change depending on function or event requirements and can include early mornings (5am starts) and late nights (venue licensed until 3am).

What we offerMinimum 30 hours a week and may be required to work more, determined by events and functions.
