Responsible to : Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)

Hours : 4 hours per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)

1 hour each morning : 7.30am – 8.30am

Hourly Rate of Pay : £12.80

Based at : Employer's own home in Suffolk (IP7)

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a young boy who has learning difficulties.

The young boy lives with his Mum and 2 younger siblings.

The purpose of this job is to support Mum and the family get ready for their day in the mornings : 7.30am – 8.30am.

It is preferred that the candidate lives local to IP7.

Responsibilities

To support with : Helping the young boy get ready for his School day

Supporting with getting the child changed, brushing his teeth etc

Supporting with breakfast time

To support Mum supervising the children when she gets changed etc

Constant supervision is always required

Support with all safety aspects

To be a social friendly companion to the child

To support with sensory play and reading before school

You will be required to keep him entertained in the home

To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required

Personal Specification

Experience with caring for children is essential

Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke

You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

You should have knowledge and understanding of risks

Be patient and supportive
