About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

We are seeking a dedicated and organised professional to provide essential corporate services to our Ministry teams in our Christchurch office. You will be part of a valued team responsible for a variety of processes including but not limited to managing our vehicle fleet, overseeing facilities and event co‑ordination. You will be the first point of contact for email and phone enquiries and will manage incoming national and local calls. Responsibilities also include mail distribution, access card management, greeting visitors and managing the daily requirements of a busy office.

Salary range : $60,879 - $72,999 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

  • Excellent time management and planning skills to enable you to respond to changing needs and priorities and ensuring deadlines are met
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • A warm and professional telephone manner
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support high‑quality service delivery
  • A proactive and forward thinker
  • Previous administration or shared service experience is preferred
  • Full clean class one drivers license

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga / learners and whānau / families.

The Business Support Team is part of Te Mahau | Te Tai Runga (South) a frontline group of staff who work with education providers, children and their families across the Canterbury / Chatham Islands region. Reporting to the Support Manager, you will be providing support to different teams and functions within the Ministry or collaborating with other team members to deliver shared services. The team plays a vital role in contributing to and achieving the Ministry’s overall goals.
