The Building Warrant of Fitness team plays a vital role in keeping Christchurch's buildings safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

About the Role
As a BWOF Technical Support Officer you will provide essential technical and administrative support to our BWOF Officers, helping to ensure the smooth and accurate management of documentation, data entry, and customer queries.
You will also provide technical advice to customers on Compliance Schedules and Building Warrant of Fitness processes, helping them navigate their responsibilities and maintain building safety and compliance.
While you will receive full training and ongoing support, this role will suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes initiative, is confident in learning new systems and processes, and has experience working within a Building Consent Authority or a related compliance environment, and / or a relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded.
About You
This fast-paced role will draw on your ability to prioritise workload, your excellent communication skills, and your task-oriented approach to working.
You will have extensive experience in an administration / customer service office environment and be a confident computer user.
You will not be phased by conflicts with customers or dealing with their complex issues as delivering excellent customer service will be at the forefront of everything you do.

Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street
Salary – The salary band for this position goes from $67,635 to $75,510 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
