About the Role (Your Why)
As a Cybersecurity Advisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with our information security policies and helping teams feel confident in the security measures in place. You’ll work across departments to identify risks, recommend solutions, and support the implementation of security technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and raise cyber risk in accordance with the clients Risk Management Framework.
- Advise business and IT units on information security compliance and risk mitigation.
- Assist in defining security requirements for new applications and software products.
- Evaluate and risk assess new applications or security tools, ensuring seamless integration into existing environments.
- Evaluate vulnerabilities identified or reported and manage the remediation or mitigation of vulnerabilities throughout the vulnerability management process.
- Implement security technologies under the direction of the Cybersecurity Manager.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain security policies, standards and procedures.
- Support and deliver security awareness training programs across the organisation.
- Investigate, respond to, and report on security incidents as directed.
- Liaise with business units to identify controls and prepare reports on security incidents for management.
- Monitor and stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity technologies, threats, and trends.
- Collaborate with teams to align technical security solutions with business goals and objectives.
What You’ll Bring
Extensive understanding of cybersecurity principles across networks, internet, email, operating systems, application vulnerabilities, firewalls, VPNs, databases, malware management, intrusion detection, cryptography, and e-commerce.High-level expertise or specialisation in several of the above areas.A strong work ethic, can do attitude and a willingness to learn.Specialised knowledge in IS Governance, Risk Management, or Technical Services.Familiarity with IT security frameworks and methodologies, including ITIL.3–5 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity with proven background in information security, risk management, audit, or related disciplines.Familiarity with common cybersecurity related tools such as MS Defender, Crowdstrike, Rapid7, etcExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proven relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.Positive team spirit.Effective presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.Ability to align technical solutions with business goals and objectives.Why Join Us Here at Datacom?
