This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career and professional development in a dynamic and supportive environment.As the ACNM, you will play a key role in supporting clinical leadership and overseeing the effective management of people, systems, processes, and resources to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across SAPU.
You will work in close partnership with the Charge Nurse Manager and the Operations Manager for Surgical Services.A central focus of this role is to facilitate the acute surgical patient flow - supporting patients referred from the Emergency Department or the community who require diagnostic testing, assessment, treatment, surgery, and short-stay admission.
You will collaborate closely with surgical specialties and broader hospital services to ensure a smooth and timely patient journey.About the Team / Service LocationSAPU is currently located in Ward 4 South and comprises 8 beds, 4 chairs, and 2 assessment rooms.
We operate in a fast-paced, acute care environment dedicated to assessment, planning, treatment, and short-stay admissions.Our team of Registered Nurses is small, close-knit, and made up of enthusiastic, passionate, and adaptable professionals.
We place a strong emphasis on teamwork and are committed to working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver the best possible health outcomes for our patients and their whanau.
SAPU also works in close partnership with other hospital departments to enhance patient flow across the facility.About youWe are looking for a candidate who brings a strong clinical background and leadership capabilities to this role.
Ideally, you will have : Proven experience as an Acute Flow CoordinatorIn-depth knowledge and understanding of the operational aspects of SAPU and Surgical ServicesA minimum of 3 years - experience in surgical or acute nursingA proactive, flexible, and efficient approach to workStrong leadership skills with the ability to support and guide a teamExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesA commitment to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practiceWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is - the weaving of wellness - .
