Overview
Service Foods is seeking a strong, capable, and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead our Christchurch branch.
You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuing the success of our Otautahi operations.
This role reports directly to the GM - South Island.
Mo te turanga mahi | About the role : As Operations Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of our established facility in Woolston, Christchurch — managing people, processes, and performance across warehouse, processing facilities, logistics, and inventory, with a strong focus on achieving DIFOT targets.
Your mahi is to grow people and operations — building capability, improving systems, and driving performance across the branch.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations including warehouse, inventory, fleet, logistics and processing facilities.
Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Oversee resource allocation and scheduling to ensure timely deliveries and excellent customer service
Lead, coach, and mentor line managers, supervisors, and frontline staff
Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures
Ensure FIFO stock rotation and minimise errors, credits, and wastage
Enforce health & safety and food safety protocols
Collaborate with sales and procurement teams for seamless coordination
Analyse KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence
About you
He korero mou : About you : A tertiary qualification in business, logistics, warehousing, operations, or a related field is preferred.
You'll bring at least 5 years of leadership experience in warehouse or logistics operations, ideally within the foodservice industry.
People management skills are essential.
