South Island Livestock Supply Chain Manager

A new opportunity has arisen within PGG Wrightson (PGW) livestock business, as our South Island Livestock Supply Chain Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a high performing individual to join PGW in a newly created livestock position, to manage and further develop our South Island direct to slaughter supply chain and procurement operations and deliverables, building on our existing partnerships and developing new strategic opportunities.

In this role you will develop strong relationships with key processor partners with a clear approach of adding value to all.

Working across the PGW Livestock business and rep force, you will influence, facilitate, and coordinate existing and new supply programs matching the needs of seasonal and weekly processing capacity and supply, market demand programs for preferred partners across all applicable species.

Developing close relationships within the business to match our expertise and knowledge to supply chain solutions will be vital.

Reporting directly to the National Livestock Supply Chain Manager and working in partnership with the PGW Regional Livestock Managers and Livestock Reps, this role will leverage off PGW's unique inhouse extensive data and knowledge of the livestock industry, from traded store stock through to direct to slaughter prime stock, incorporating PGW GO-Stock volumes along with our genetic expertise.

Where applicable this role will manage the day-to-day operational demands and processor supply, including reporting, scheduling and forecasting requirements.

Have a successful track record in Livestock Procurement and / or Livestock Supply-chain sectors.

Have managed livestock supply / procurement programs successfully.

Can offer sound judgement and fresh ideas at both operational and strategic levels.

Have experience in dealing in a dynamic and highly competitive industry.

You will bring a professional approach that is outgoing and driven, with clear goals and vision to grow the business and have exceptional interpersonal skills.

You can expect an extensive amount of travel given the spread of our livestock business across the South Island.

Although the location is flexible, it is preferred that location is in one of PGG Wrightson's South Island regional offices.
