Nuclear Medicine Advanced Trainee Auckland & Christchurch Location : Auckland City Hospital & Mercy Radiology (Year 1), Christchurch Hospital (Year 2) Employment Type : Fixed Term, 24 months

This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognised Advanced Training Programme in Nuclear Medicine, jointly delivered by Christchurch Hospital, Auckland City Hospital, and Mercy Radiology. Youll gain advanced clinical experience across both diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine, including PET / CT and Theranostics, while working alongside leading specialists in the field.

About the Role

As an Advanced Trainee in Nuclear Medicine, youll participate in a comprehensive two-year programme accredited by the RACP and RANZCR Committee for Joint Training in Nuclear Medicine.

Year 1 : Based across Auckland City Hospital and Mercy Radiologys Epsom, Greenlane, and Milford sites, offering diverse learning experiences and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

Year 2 : Training will continue at Christchurch Hospital, working within a highly skilled team of Nuclear Medicine physicians, dual-trained Radiologists, Technologists, Medical Physicists, and administrative staff.

This programme provides an exceptional platform for developing advanced specialist skills and launching your career in this rapidly evolving field.

About the Team

The Nuclear Medicine Service at Auckland City Hospital is a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic care for the Auckland community. Working closely with our national partners, we are proud to contribute to the advancement of Nuclear Medicine in Aotearoa.

About You

We are seeking motivated applicants who have completed one of the following :

  • Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Basic Physician Training (including written and clinical exams)
  • Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Part 2 Examination

RACP applicants must complete the two years of nuclear medicine training and a third year of non-core training, in an allied internal medicine field. Already completed years can be accredited, with college approval to obtain FRACP.
